life is full of distractions. To reduce the cognitive noise in my life, I disabled my phone's browser years ago. But it turns out it's not that easy: scanning a QR code, quickly look up something on the web, check out a link that a friend send you... sometimes, you need a browser.
But then again, browsers are attention sinks – distraction magnets.
So I decided to make a browser myself – one that doesn't have anything to support impulse browsing:
You can even remove it from your home screen – it doesn't make sense to tap the app icon. How do you use it? Scan a QR code with your camera – it will open in Leash. Tap a link you received from a friend – it will open in Leash.
Leash is a browser designed to let you live your life – digitally connected, but safe from the monster wave of dopamine that hides in a regular browser.
